WEDDING GUIDE · TIMELINE

Wedding photo timeline: the ideal schedule for your day

A good timeline is half the secret of great photos. Here is the schedule I suggest and my tips for a relaxed day.

HOUR BY HOUR

A typical day, hour by hour

An example for a summer day, from ceremony to dancing, with the 10-hour Signature package. I then adapt it with you to your own schedule.

14:00

Ceremony

Town hall, church or secular ceremony: I stay discreet to capture the glances and the emotions.

15:00

Drinks reception

Congratulations and reunions: I photograph your loved ones as it happens.

15:45

Group photos

20 to 30 minutes is enough with a list prepared in advance.

16:30

Couple session

20 to 30 minutes for the two of you, in a lovely spot near the venue.

19:00

Dinner

Speeches, laughter, surprises from the guests.

21:00

First dance

The moment everyone is waiting for: the party begins.

22:00

Evening dancing

The dance floor fills up: I stay for the dancing and the party atmosphere.

GOLDEN HOUR

Save a moment for the golden hour

If you can, keep 15 minutes free about an hour before sunset for a few couple photos. It is the most beautiful light of the day. In Lausanne, the sun sets around 21:30 in late June and around 19:15 in late September: check the exact time for your date.

TIPS

Five tips for a relaxed day

01

The group photo list

Make a list of group photos, 8 to 10 groups, and give it to a witness who will gather everyone.

02

Time for the two of you

Allow 20 to 30 minutes for your couple session in the schedule.

03

Leave some slack

Keep a little slack between the stages: a timeline that is too tight shows on people's faces.

04

The key moments

Tell me about the important moments: speeches, surprises, the couple's entrance, the bouquet toss.

05

A plan B

Have a plan B in case of rain: a few clear umbrellas and a covered spot.
