THE STORY

A day above Lake Geneva

Loïc and Boris got married at Le Mirador Resort & Spa, in Mont-Pèlerin, with a secular ceremony on the terrace. One in burgundy, the other in forest green: before the ceremony, we took the time for a few portraits of the two of them, by the large picture window and then outside, with Lake Geneva at their feet. They then walked in together, arm in arm, between their loved ones, all the way to the arch. I'll let you discover their day.

Portraits for two, facing the lake

We started indoors, by a large picture window opening onto Lake Geneva and the mountains, then stepped out onto the terrace. Loïc and Boris walked side by side, held each other, burst out laughing: all I had to do was follow them. Then the guests arrived, and glasses were raised beneath the parasols. The hotel presents itself on its website.

A secular ceremony beneath the arch

They walked up the aisle together, met by looks and smiles, before sitting down by the arch, with the lake as a backdrop. Their loved ones spoke in turn, and there was no shortage of laughter. Then came the ribbon ritual: ribbon after ribbon, their loved ones bound their hands together, before the exchange of rings and the kiss.

The exit beneath the paper planes

Beneath the arch, they kissed, then applauded along with their guests. They left the way they had arrived, arm in arm, while everyone launched paper planes of every colour. The aisle was strewn with them.

For a secular ceremony with couple portraits and group photos, I recommend the six-hour Classic package; to stay through to the dancing, the ten-hour Signature. In Mont-Pèlerin, as anywhere in the canton of Vaud, travel is free.
