A day in the Lavaux vineyards, between the vines, the estate's cellar and Lake Geneva.
THE STORY
A wedding in the Lavaux vineyards
Liliane and Antoine got married at Domaine Bovy, in Chexbres. Around the ceremony, the three of us set off into the vineyards: first between the vines, then on the little road above the lake, and finally in the cool, between the large casks of the cellar. Their little white dog came along for the walk too.

At Domaine Bovy, in Chexbres
Domaine Bovy is a family estate set among the terraced vineyards, with Lake Geneva and the Alps on the horizon. In the cellar, the large casks decorated with paintings make a setting you rarely see, sheltered from sun and rain alike. The estate presents its spaces on its website.

In Chexbres, a few steps are enough to find yourselves alone between the rows of vines. I don't ask for much at that point. A forehead resting against the other, a hand on a cheek, a laugh that comes by itself, and the photo is there.

Facing Lake Geneva and the mountains
On the vineyard road, the lake and the peaks are all the backdrop you need. Liliane and Antoine danced there, brought out their newlywed slates and played with their dog. These pictures are full of life, and they look like them.

In Lavaux, as anywhere in the canton of Vaud, travel is included. For a ceremony and a couple session in the vineyards, the three hours of the Essential package are enough; with the six-hour Classic, I stay for the meal too.
