THE STORY

A day in Chandolin

Charlotte and Derek got married in Chandolin, in the Val d'Anniviers, at almost 2,000 metres above sea level. We began with a walk for two along a path, facing the snow-capped peaks. Then their loved ones joined them for the secular ceremony, in a meadow beside the village church. The celebration went on at the Chandolin Boutique Hotel, with drinks on the terrace, dinner and speeches.

Before the ceremony, the three of us set off along a mountain path. Up there you find a wooden bench, a few tall trees, and the snow-capped peaks right in front of you. Charlotte and Derek walked, stopped, kissed. I hardly had to say a word: at this altitude, the light does the rest.

Secular ceremony in the village

The ceremony was held outdoors, in a meadow beside the church, with the chalets and the valley as a backdrop. Charlotte and Derek read their vows between bursts of laughter. Then came the rings, the kiss, and everyone on their feet to cheer.

Evening at the Chandolin Boutique Hotel

After the group photos, everyone gathered on the terrace of the Chandolin Boutique Hotel, in the evening sun, with a saxophonist, dancing and much laughter. Then came dinner, whirling napkins, speeches and hugs. The hotel presents itself on its website.
