THE STORY

From cathedral to La Palud

Ly and Antoine got married at Lausanne's Hôtel de Ville, on Place de la Palud. We had arranged to meet a little earlier, at the foot of the cathedral, for their couple photos in a lovely low light. After that, everything followed on: the wood-panelled room, the rings, the signatures, and the exit under soap bubbles. I'll let you discover their day.

Couple photos at the cathedral

The cathedral is only a few minutes' walk from the Hôtel de Ville. Around it you find old stone, wrought-iron railings and cobbled lanes, away from the crowds. Ly and Antoine strolled there hand in hand, first in their wedding outfits, then wrapped up in their coats.

THE CEREMONY

The civil ceremony at the Hôtel de Ville

With its wood panelling and wall lights, the wedding room is bathed in warm light. Antoine opened the ring box, there were fits of laughter, then the signatures. I photograph it all without interrupting anything. For the paperwork in the canton, the Vaud civil registry will guide you.

THE EXIT

The exit and loved ones

On Place de la Palud, the guests were waiting for them with soap bubbles. Then came the hugs, and the group photos around a fountain. The day ended at a restaurant, among loved ones and laughter.
